ClearPores(TM) – Opinions Differ, But This Acne Skin Care System Has Helped Many

The ClearPores(TM) Skin Cleansing System has been developed in a laboratory with “the latest scientific advances.”  According to the company’s website, ClearPores(TM) is “recommended by American doctors and a European herbalist.”  The three-step system fights acne from both inside and outside the body.  It is designed to give you “shine free skin” that is also free of blemishes, spots, whiteheads, and blackheads, and a reduction in redness, swelling, and scarring.

ClearPores(TM) compares itself to other common acne solutions by saying that the others treat only one aspect of acne – the surface results, for example.  ClearPores(TM), on the other hand, offers three unique products to “fix ALL of the problems” that lead to acne.  This acne treatment system is endorsed by doctors and boasts 24-hour customer service.

Company Information

ClearPores(TM) is manufactured by Marabou Herbals, Ltd. (www.marabouherbals.com), a company based in Tennessee in the United States.  Marabou receives a grade of C- from the Better Business Bureau, but this is most likely because of the newness of the company’s BBB file, which was not opened until May 2009.  Only one customer complaint – a “refund or exchange issue” –  is listed, and it is labeled as resolved.

Product Specifications

The first step of the ClearPores(TM) Skin Cleansing System is to cleanse with the Deep Facial Wash and/or the Deep Body Wash.  These products are meant to attack the bacteria that causes acne, reduce blemishes, unclog pores by helping skin to shed old cells, remove excess sebum, eliminate blackheads and whiteheads, and aid skin’s healing with special nutrients.  Both the facial and body washes are oil-free and contain 2% Salicylic Acid and 1% SD Alcohol 40.

ClearPores(TM) Facial and/or Body Protection Cream is used to protect skin from drying out, to keep pores clear, to moisturize skin, and to protect it from sweat and bacteria.  The Facial Protection Cream contains 2% Salicylic Acid while the Body Protection Cream contains just 1.5%.  The body cream contains green tea, but otherwise all ingredients in these creams are created in a laboratory.

The ClearPores(TM) Skin Cleansing System is rounded out by ClearPores(TM) Herbal Supplement which is made up of “100% natural ingredients” including aloe vera, dandelion root, red clover, and kelp.  According to the ClearPores(TM) website, these ingredients will “fight the acne bacteria where it grows,” rebuild cells, and reduce inflammation, swelling, and scarring.

No warnings or side effects to using ClearPores(TM) products are discussed on the ClearPores(TM) website.

Summary

As with basically all acne treatments, ClearPores(TM) Skin Cleansing System has pros and cons.  There are those who say it really works and those who have problems and complaints.  I have yet to find an acne treatment that at least one person doesn’t call a scam, but it’s important to look at all the perspectives before deciding if a product is good.  I searched around to see what kind of reviews I could find from real users of ClearPores(TM), and I want to share my findings with you.

Easy Acne Remedy gives ClearPores(TM) its second highest rating for best acne treatment, but SkinCare Product Reviews presents a more conservative view of this skin care system.  They provide a warning to potential users that the “majority of the ingredients” in the facial and body washes are  “chemicals used to make a product that dries out your skin and will most likely cause irritation.”  They fail to mention, however, that each person’s skin will respond differently to any ingredient – whether chemically- or naturally-derived.  You can easily view the full list of product ingredients on the ClearPores(TM) website and will see that the chemicals in the washes and creams are commonly found in many other acne treatments and skin care products as well.

User reviews on various forums also seem divided between the good and the bad.  Some people say that ClearPores(TM) worked for them at first but that they developed red, dry, irritated skin after several weeks of use.  The worsening acne that some people experience could be due to the the treatment pulling toxins and bacteria out of the body.  One reviewer advised that a person should “be aware of how well your skin can tolerate the active ingredient,” salicylic acid, before purchasing.

Others say that ClearPores(TM) does work for them.  I found comments like “fast result for me…it’s a good product for me” and “In one month, my whole entire face was acne free.”  Another positive reviewer says that after using ClearPores(TM) for two months, she “could see a considerable reduction” in her acne.  Admittedly, the negative reviews on various forums seem to outweigh the positive ones, but that’s a sad fact of looking for feedback about any product.  People are more likely to post about a product they don’t like than they are to post about one that works.
